A Letter to ESPN

Dear ESPN,

I would like to watch your channel sometimes.  I do not have cable.  I do NOT want to buy cable because I want to have a life and not get sucked into too much tv-viewing.  But I like football.  I like baseball.  I like softball.  I cannot watch Monday Night Football from the airwaves.  I could not watch some of the MLB playoff games.

So, I would subscribe to your channel on the internet, if you offered that option.  It would be most cool if I could buy it by the day/week/month, too.

Sounds like a win-win to me.

Think about it.

Sincerely,
Sports Fan

I think you mean "I do *not* want to buy cable" in your 2nd sentence. We are about to enter our 2nd year of not owning a TV. I like not owning a TV except during they olympics. Then I watch TV like a crazy person.

You are right, Adam, unless I secretly really DO want to buy cable, but am suppressing that desire to stay on the "high road."

Actually, ESPN is one of the best websites for providing free sports content - for selected items. You can often get an audio feed for national items that ESPN Radio is broadcasting, such as the NBA finals. ("NBA" stands for the National Basketball Association, a group that used to play basketball games.) They've also shown video content at times.
