Since our early marriage we have tuned into NBC's Today Show while eating breakfast, starting our days off with Jane Pauley and Bryant Gumbel.
We stayed steady through the changes in the hosts, but then I noticed my frustration when they started showing more and more what I call "trash" stories - pure sensationalism, little content. I would change the channel to see what else was on, and I ended up with CBS.
Now I start the day with Charlie Rose and Gayle King.

I've experienced the same disappointment with the early stories covered on "The Today Show." If they move into that sort of thing, I change to another network to check out what they are doing. I've now gotten more familiar with them. I do like the fact that they all have a bit of a different take on news stories, as well as items of interest.
