Yesterday our school office manager just had to come read those of us on lunch break in the staff room a letter. Apparently a certain child is often in trouble. Our office manager looked at him and asked him if he would be making this a habit, and he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know." She looked at him and said, "It's picture day. You look so nice. Make it a good day!" Then she suggested that he write a note to the principal explaining what had happened. So, he wrote a letter, and this is how it started.
"Dear Mr. Stewart, Today is picture day. I look nice. But somehow I am still the same."
Ah, yes. Somehow we are still the same.

I really love this. I just keep thinking about it and am reminded that kids really do speak the truth - sometimes without even realizing it.
