The Tiger's Wife

Based on a friend's recommendation, I read The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht.  I imagined that the book might take place in China or India, but no, it's set in the Balkans (I'm not exactly sure which country) in the 1990s and earlier.  For such a young author (she is now 26), she writes beautifully, spinning in legends throughout the narrative.

However, I found the whole story arc difficult to follow.  I'm not sure if it's the kind of book that if I read it again it would flow better, or not.  I will definitely read her next book.
