Yesterday in 2nd grade music I started listing characters one might be for Halloween (so the kids would have some movement ideas when I played the Funeral March of a Marionette). The first ones I listed were Frankenstein and Ballet Dancer. One girl raised her hand and said, "But Frankenstein is the name of the doctor who created the monster." Um, yeah, she was right. I covered by saying that she was correct, but that we would just move like Frankenstein's monster and call it Frankenstein.
Then, as we listed other characters, she was unhappy that someone had listed zombie which would move exactly like Frankenstein's monster, thus limiting her choices of movement. (We did have a few other things listed, so she wasn't completely without options.)
