It was such an emotionally draining week for me that we decided to relax at the beach for the rest of the weekend (after the retirement party on Saturday). With bikes attached to the back of the car, we headed to Orange County and Huntington Beach.

| Black-crowned Night Heron - Juvenile |
- Walking through the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and looking at birds, including an juvenile black-crowned night heron (thanks to the birders there who told us the name)

| A Tern in flight |
- Biking 22 miles along the beach to the Santa Ana River and up to the Talbert Nature Preserve - a new place for us.
