This afternoon the Harvey Mudd College American Gamelan performed at Cal Poly Pomona. We performed six pieces, two with viola, one with clarinet, one with video. For one of the pieces, I sat in the wings because it did not require my instrument (kenong), so I was able to take this shot of the group. It is quite a big deal to move the gamelan from one location to another and then back! I didn't help getting it out there, but I did help load and unload it on its way back home. Makes me appreciate just putting my violin or viola into its case and slinging it over my shoulder!
