Harkening back to my post from a week ago, today I once again thought about monastic life. This time I watched the film Into Great Silence which is more a meditation than a film, and it certainly has no plot. For two and a half hours we watch as the monks of the Grande Chartreuse in the French Alps go about their daily lives as the seasons change. Spoken words are rare. Time certainly has a different meaning than it does to the rest of the modern world.
