The leaves have started to fall in Claremont. They will be falling until Christmas. Every once in a while, our Chinese Elm, and the Chinese elms in the neighborhood drop huge chunks of small green leaves, all attached together. I take some comfort in knowing that it isn't something that I am doing wrong in the garden since it is widespread. This happens occasionally, and since these trees are green year-round and continuously drop leaves, I don't know if it is weather-related or not. All I know is that it is time to get out the rake.

Leaves here in CO are beautiful. No hard freeze yet.
